    Anyone watch UFC 84?

What did everyone think of it??

I thought Lyoto Machida did a great job against Tito Ortiz. You could tell Tito was getting really frustrated by not being able to play his own game, and I'm sure Dana White got a kick out of it since those two can't stand each other.

I thought the Penn v Sherk fight was great. BJ Penn never ceases to amaze me.

    Anyone else watch it??

bj penn did a great job.why didnt sherk take him down more than once? sherk looks like he came in this fight naturally and not juiced. his body looks a little more like randy couture's rather than looking like mike kerr's physique in his prime. hope bj moves up in welterweight. i would really love to see him fight gsp. or gsp moves up in weight. a gsp vs aderson silva fight would be a good match.

lyoto machida is an ok fighter. very unorthodox. very boring though.

dana white is greedy b!tch. i hope he gets stabbed outside. lol. the ufc needs a new manager. good fighters all wana leave the ufc because of him. arlovski, couture, ortiz, frank shamrock. they are signing contracts with spike tv alone for a 100mil and they fighters barely get 1mil.

sukoudjiu did a great job at putting away kaz.

and wanderlei.. classic wanderlei..maybe a rematch with liddell?

all in all, it was a good night.

i agree with you about ortiz. but frank shamrock left the ufc in his prime. so im talking about that time zone, around 99 i think? and he just beat baroni late last year. nd couture isnt great? he just beat tim sylvia and gonzaga at the age of 42. i dont even know why tim sylvia is getting a shot at fedor when he got beaten by couture. even tim sylvia left the ufc. lol!

and whether tito ortiz wins or loses, ppl will always watch his fights because he's tito ortiz. people love to see him beat a guy up or get beaten up. he sells tickets and thats what really matters in making money around these events. right?

Couture is still amazing. The reason he (and many other fighters) left is because Dana White is paying those fighters peanuts compared to what they can make in other leagues. Tim Sylvia has a $800,000 fight coming up in WEC (I believe). The biggest payday from UFC 82, for example, was only $170,000.

The biggest overrated fighter is Liddell. No technique, just that one goofy overhand right and hellacious takedown defense. Don't get hit by the right, mind you, but no real technique.

Anybody hear more about Coutoure fighting in M1?

    Re: Anyone watch UFC 84?

they paid $1mil to fedor in bodog. and $800k to matt lindland i think on their fight. not sure bout matt lindland though.

yes, couture is still amazing despite the age. and i think he is the best bet against fedor. although i think fedor will kill him, it will still be a good fight. randy however is always improving unlike other fighters.

i actually think chuck liddell WAS a good fighter, maybe just past his prime. he did very well against the vanderlei fight. killer elbows from the clinch. counter attacking and keeping out of wandy's range..i actually think he is kinda underrated now..
