Cage pictures and questions
I was spot cleaning today and took some pictures of cages..
These are my glass terrariums:

These cages are just outside of my bedroom. These cages house 2 corn snakes, a rosy boa, sand boa, 07 red tail boa, and an 07 spider BP. Nothing fancy, its just easier for me to keep the young snakes and snakes with low humidity requirements in glass terrariums.
These are 4 of my 5 2x4 cages from RBI:

From top to bottom: hog island boa, red tail boa, male BP, female BP. I have another 2x4 in another room where my red tail with an RI is staying. For now I'm keeping all the snakes in the 2x4s on newspaper and I put a handful of aspen in one corner of the cage and spray it to keep humidity up. How does everyone else keep humidity up in cages they use newspaper in? Its so hard for me to keep it up in the 2x4 cages, I was having problems with all my snakes shedding for a while, but after adding the aspen in the corner my snakes have been having full sheds. I just bought a new thermostat too to get the boas/balls on their own therms, right now they're on the same.
BTW, the BP on the bottom has a hide.. the 3 larger snakes on top get extra newspaper sheets that I crumble up a little and they use that as a hide (haven't put it in yet since I just changed the paper), I can't think of any other way to keep hides in those cages that the snakes will actually want to use, but if you have any suggestions let me know!
Oh, and where does everyone buy unprinted newspaper from and how much does it usually cost + shipping? I'm thinking of switching to that.

Re: Cage pictures and questions
While we generally use racks now and humidity is not an issue we do have one display type rack that I home built. To keep the humidity up we just keep the humidity up in the room with a humidifier. Granted where we live compared to you it is a lot easier. One thing we do when ours our in shed to bring humidity up is move the water dish as close to the heating element as possible. Also we will add additional water dishes if we have issues, but only had to do that one time during the winter.
As for the hides for our larger ball pythons we use large - jumbo plastic mixing bowls and they seem to really like them.

I know that uline.com sells unprinted newspaper, but I don't recall how much.
