    maybe no eggs this year????

I only have one breeding size female. I saw her lock up with Titan a bunch a times over the last month and she shed two nights ago. I thought this would be the prelay shed. But tonite she seems to be in hunt mode. So if shes is looking for food this may be a busted play. Not real sure what I should do now any suggestions.

have you palpated yet? If so have you felt follicles? If she doesnt have follicles you probably won't have eggs this year! Unless you put the male with her (and he is still producing sperm) and that stimulates her to produce follicles and pair them up again once you feel follicles growing to make sure she still has viable sperm stored. Also my females will still eat and hunt for food when they are building follicles only to go off feed when they have ovulated. some will go off feed when they start breeding so all hope may not be lost.

I thought I could feel something when I cleaned her water bowl a couple a days ago but I'm not sure what it would feel like. The male don't have anything to do with her any more. Maybe its just because she just shed. Also not sure about palpution.

I would say if the male will have nothing to do with her she may be about to ovulate and you still may get eggs. However I have a female that I bred my pastel and my spider to, there were numerous lock ups and I could feel the follicles inside her at one point. Then she never ovulated, I am assuming she reabsorbed her follicles because now I feel nothing and she is eating again.

So it could go either way. Keep watching her and keep us posted.

I think ralph davis has a video on you tube as well as larry suttles and adam. Just research palpating and see if you have follicles if their big you will feel them. I dont have those links off hand ill get them up soon or maybe another member knows. Also kellyballs sorry i dont know your name i say more than likely she reabsorbed her follicles i hope this helps

Also my male seems to always be interesed even if their not. He is always trying to court them. Is your male producing sperm plug how much does he weigh? Most the time it depends on their age ive seen young small males breed before some slighty older males. Also check him for sperm plugs.
