    Re: Pastel or high yellow?

I would say if the middle back spot is light purple as it seems then it would count as a pastel but I only have dinker leos. Maybe one of the real breeders can post to clear it up for you

    Re: Pastel or high yellow?

A pastel is a high yellow that didnt lose all its purple banding. Its really the same thing so you can call it whichever one appeals to you most. Genetic wise however, its a reduced normal. Very nice looking leo though. I have a couple 'pastels' myself!!!

That looks like a pastel to me. The colors are pastel. A high yellow would be much more intense and bright.

unless it's just a picture issue or my monitor, I disagree. A very pretty normal. I see dark blacks.

    Re: Pastel or high yellow?

I have seen pastels with black. It's the yellow color and the light purple-bluish of the bandings that make it pastel. The first two pics look like a high yellow. The lighting in the second post looks like a pastel.

Sorry, but I have to disagree, a pastel replaces the very dark almost black pigment with a light tan color. Usually, the lighter yellow also comes with the tan pigment of the pastel.

A pastel is marked by tan pigment replacing the black pigment.
