    help with an orphan!

I took in an adult female bp (i know, from getting rid of em to taking em in, what can i say?). She has some serious respiratory issues. She breathes so loud, I can hear her across the room. I can hear "bubbling" coming from inside her. Her mouth is wedged poen in what looks like the mouth rot stance. She mouth breathes and has oodles of purulent (pus) in her mouth. I think its pus, it may be soggy bedding or aspen or something...

anyway, she looks in a bad way. I moved her immediately to my big "uber regulated" tank to watch her closely and she's pretty chill. I cleaned out her mouth and made sure she could open it without obstruction. So far, it seems to have helped. There still seems to be some more, though...

    Any advice?

Glad you are helping her. She sounds like she needs it.

advice: Take her to a vet. She may need antibiotics or something else too.

Up her temps and get her to a vet ASAP. With the open mouth breathing and the bubbles, she sounds like she's got a raging RI.

Also make sure and keep her under tight quarantine! You don't want your snakes coming down with whatever she's got.

oh, good call on the quarentine, I didnt think upper RI were bacterial, but that makes sense...For some reason I thought they were just environmental like asthma or something. I have to try and find a good herp vet...I shoulda had that already.

She's so pretty, a real nice tan reduce-banded pattern...She's a proven breeder too, 8+ eggs. Man, I hope she does alright.
