Okay, I'm guessing you're not much of a plant person generally. The 'eggs' are actually fertilizer (likely osmocote or a similar brand). If you got the plant from a nursery or store, then likely they had just gotten around to fertilizing for spring growth. You can wait on them to hatch, but its going to be a looooooong wait.

I used my own fertilizer months ago. Those have not been there until now.
