So I am think about a rescue...

There is an almost 5 ft long male pastel at a local pet store that is being kept in a tank with 2 adult boa constrictors. It's been there for months they said. I want to get it out of that terrible setup.

However, I need to know how big of a tank to get for one that size. My girl is a little more that 3 ft long and is fine in a 20 long. I was think a 40G for this big guy.

    That sound right?

    Thanks.

Yea, that sounds good. I do have one thats almost 5 1/2ft (he was a rescue too), and I have him in a 50g, but a 40 should be good for that male.

Try a 30 breeder. An ample size for an adult ball python is 3ftx2ftx12inches high. Anything taller than that and your fighting heat and humidity issues. Anything larger than that and your fighting the same issues.
However, if you want to get a huge reptile cage and fill it with tons of hides and stuff then that would be silly, but okay

    Hi,

Since it is sharing a cage with a couple of boas you need to make absolutely sure you practice the correct quarantine.

It's not that I think the shop is lying about how long they have all been there it's just that it is not worth the risk.

    OK, two things:

    1) Is this OK? http://www.zilla-rules.com/products/critter-cages.htm (The 30G)

    2) What is considered quaranteen? The next room?

Other room, no contact with the rest of your collection, washing hands between handling, etc.

    ...everyone needs a little R&R

i keep my qt animals on the total other side of the house, unless i know they were in absolute good care, then my living room [its a few rooms away from where my smaller pythons are] like my BRB, i got from my uncle, who had a vet for her, and stuff, but everything else gets put on the other side of my house...

If I want to go the tub route instead of tank, what size would be appropriate? Where's the best place to get one?
