If hes in there and hasnt came out at all theres a good chance hes in shed... I have a streak of getting new snakes in and them going into shed right after they come in... Either way if hes hiding and not coming out thats a good thing.

that makes sense that he would be in shed, but at the same time i hope not because i have been having humidity problems and they probably wont be fixed for a couple days until i get paid and can get some things to help raise the huimidity.

    Re: how long...

If you're having humidity issues and cant get it taken care of for a couple days I'd just take a wet wash clothe and put it in the tank. Itll provide some humidity and its free. If need be you could resoak it a couple times a day... I had to do this once and it worked pretty well... I wouldnt make it a habit but a 1 time thing is OK. Good luck

I put 4-5, I meant 1. Both of them were out and about for a little bit after being in their new homes.

Mine never even touch their hides until at least the second day I've had them. It's almost like they don't know what those dark caves are for.

    Re: how long...

Mine went into its hide right when I got it and came out about 12 hours later for an hour to two. There are times I dont see him out at all, but when I wake up in the morning I can clearly see by marking in the substrate that he had been moving around late at night after I was asleep.

If this is your first BP then just get used to it they hide all the time and sometimes if your lucky they will come out at night when your around. My girl is an acception to the rule. She is out whenever. Good luck and congrats on your little one.

    Re: how long...

*blinks* it's been so long I can't remember. It wouldn't surprise me if it was 0 days. I know my pastel hung out on her branch a LOT as a baby and used to climb the thermostat cord as well.

These days the ball pythons all go into racks, so I have no idea how much hiding they really do.
