They are amazing animals. Ed, if you'd ever seen the absolute mess of Saoirse's eyes when we got her - well you'd never believe there could be two functioning healthy eyes under so many layers of old stuck and hardened caps. Adam cautioned us to soak her and so forth but not to start hauling at those caps. Lo and behold, soaking took off a few layers and subsequent good sheds got rid of the rest and Ms. Saoirse had two beautiful, bright eyes under there. You just never know what they are capable of given the right care.
