I had a similar problem about 3 years ago. The difference with mine, is that it was self induced. I had a normal female that I believed had a stuck eye cap. Well I sprayed her down, and let the water soak for about 30 minutes. I went back after the water had time to soften the cap, and removed what I thought was the eye cap. It wasn't a retained eye cap, and what I ended up removing was the protective covering of the eye. After about 3 days, her eye looked like the one in your first photo (minus the cut). I freaked out, propbably about like you, and thought she would be permantly damaged in that eye. Low and behold, after 2 sheds, you coulnd't tell anything was ever wrong. Lesson learned here, was to ensure you have a stuck eye cap before trying to remove what you think is a cap, and may not be.
