    Help! A sound!

I was holding my BP Irwin last night. He was hanging around my neck and then I heard it...it sounded like a small squeak, maybe almost a wheeze. If anyone has a cat or a small animal, it sounded like that was sniffing my ear. **If that made sense**

I listened again and he did it a few more times, not with every breath though. He just seemed to do it when I startled him a bit. He was very cold when I picked him up, probably because he was cruising around his tank, and he's been hanging around in his cool hide.

I am VERY paraniod about an RI, does this sound like one? I bumped his temps up and humidity, is there anything else I can do?

yea sounds like an RI to me. you say you bumped his temps up.What were they and to what did you bump them. The next step is to get it to the vet for a check up.

Does he have any retained shed skin around nose/mouth? This can cause a whistle too.

I've heard water from drinking can do the same thing.

A trip to a qualified herp vet is really the only way to know for sure. If I were you, bump the temps a bit as suggested already and make an appointment as soon as you can get in just to be safe. =)

Agreed. It is possible that it's nothing to worry about, but I wouldn't take that chance if I were you, and I'd head right to the nearest knowledgeable reptile vet.

    Re: Help! A sound!

The temps currently right now are:
    Warm hide: 94 *bumped up*
    Cool side: 84: *bumped up*
    Humidity: 62%

He just had a complete shed.

I'm so worried, I'm going to check on him right now to see if he still does it. I need to see how much they're going to charge to see him if it gets worse. I am in college right now and don't have much money to my name at all, probably less then $100!

    I'm soooooo worried!
