I was curious as to if you have ever experienced this before. I only ask because I have let eggs pip on their own sometimes, and they barely make a hole big enough to get their head out. Then once their head is out, it looks like it could never get it back in, but low and behold a bit later, they are back in the egg. I have witnessed small tears in the egg around the cut, since the egg is pretty soft at this stage.
