Re: New bp * big guy * funky scales!! :x (DUW)
Looks to me like a burn or blisters from being in to 'wet" and environment.
When you've got 10,000 people trying to do the same thing, why would you want to be number 10,001? ~ Mark Cuban "for the discerning collector"

I'm not positive.. either he has stuck eyecaps from a previous shed, or he's going to start up pretty soon. I've only had him for a week.. he does seem to be getting more dull, so I'd guess he's going to start soon.

Re: New bp * big guy * funky scales!! :x (DUW)
Something really concerns me about your post - you stated you got him last week - he has these blisters on those five scales and is now starting a slight wheeze (an indication that he may be developing an RI), BUT he gets along well with your other BP.
Does that mean that you have chosen NOT to quarantine him for three months from your established animals? Or were you not aware of the importance of quarantining new animals? Especially one that may be sick and can get your animals sick?
I'd definitely take him to the vet to get both the scales and the wheeze attended to, and do NOT handle your other animals after you've handled him.

Re: New bp * big guy * funky scales!! :x (DUW)
I rescued a female Ball from a guy here in Waco who was in college and couldn't care for her properly. She had a very bad burn on the last 1/3 of her belly and most of the scales there were filled with fluid. I soaked her in chlorhexidine solution after making slits in each of the fluid-filled areas, and scrubbed her belly gently with a wash cloth soaked in chlorhexidine. After she dried, I would liberally apply triple antibiotic ointment. After 2 sheds, she was all healed up and perfect.
Also, I can't say it enough. QuarantineQuarantineQuarantine! You never know what that snake may have, or what parasites it may be carrying, that can and will get passed onto your other snake. That will equal double the vet bills, especially if the rescued snake is in the first stages of respiratory illness. 30-60 days minimum in a separate location, which doesn't mean across the room. It means in a totally different room across the house or at a separate house(or at your vet's office- which is what I do if I get in a questionable snake).
