    normal behavior?

I've had my BP Irwin since January of this year. He is a terrific eater and has only missed one meal. He is about two feet long now and getting fatter.

I have him in a 10 gallon tank, to UTH regulated by 2 seperate rheotats. The warm side is 88-90F and the cool side stay around 83F.

I never see him during the day, I know they are nocturnal. But whenever I come into my room at night and turn on the lights, he is doing laps around the tank, climbing everything and anything. Then once I walk up to the tank, he does back into his hide.

Is this a sign of stress or him just being silly and exploring/looking for food?

Here's a picture of his tank

I've made a lot of improvements, this was the first picture I took of his tank. No more heat lamp, his second hide is no longer a tissue box. Bigger water bowl, and I have an AcuRite digital thermometer/hydrometer. Don't mind the stickie on the wall.

That's good. Mine is digesting as well, so I haven't seen him.

It's pretty funny when I turn the light on though, it looks like I've caught him with his 'pants' down. I believe that he thinks if he stops moving I can't see him.

    Re: normal behavior?

heh, mine do the same freeze dance, pretty cute! XD usually they explore more when they are hungry or in a new cage. You may wish to check all your temps and such because sometimes they can be irritated by something in the cage if they keep trying to escape, it may be too cold or too hot... but don't worry too much if the setup is sound.
