not so shy
Today I fed Shinobi 1 medium sized adult mouse (instead of 3 hoppers) and although it took him a little longer to get down, he had no problems with it. That was about 3 hours ago and usually after I feed him he goes right back into his hide. Today, however, he hasnt gone back into his hide yet since I fed him. I'm thinking its probably just because he doesnt want to curl up with a larger prey item in his stomach. He's just hanging out in the front corner on the warm side of the tank . I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on him for now.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

two feet sounds like he could use it. Try and see if you have another now, or buy two next week. I'm sure he'd appreciate it! My male was pounding 3-4 mice when he was about three feet.

Re: not so shy
What I do with my smaller snakes is once they hit a couple hundred grams I feed them 2 large mice(25g) every other week. In between those feedings they only get 1 large mouse. This keeps them eating every week but also puts the extra weight on them without stuffing them. I fear that if I feed 2 large mice every week they will go of feed eventually so 2 every other seems to be working very well. My 07 babies are growing between 100-130g per shed cycle(4-6weeks) and I think thats pretty normal for a growing baby but I could be wrong.
