Sign of healing?

My BP currently has scale rot, and i've been treating her with shots and betadine for almost a week now. Ive noticed that the area and rot has started to dry up and flake off small pieces. Is this part of the healing process, or is there something else going on?

If it is getting a dark yellow, it is healing with scabs.

I think photos would be the most important here..
