umm me think me make a bo bo

alright so me and my fiance have been dealing with malis for probaly close to 3-4 years now and weve had our ups and downs. well we have had our male now for a while and he looked kinda lonley. so i went to a shop and bought him a friend to hang out with (dont wrry i quarntiend (SP) ) so i introduced him and they got along right away. well heres the question the uro i bought is actually not a mali its a red niger. and heres the real problem. they did the nasty. i came home from work to find him on top of her. i guess i should have caught it earlier i mean he was showing all the signs(bitting on the neck doing this little dance.that happens to be freakin adorable(imagen a mali on a hide cave doing the moon walk) so have ther ever been a cross breed between the two. and please dont scould me

Wow, I think this is the first I've heard of lizard cross-breeding. But that means diddly squat since I try to ignore the world of lizards. (They scare me).

You should post some pictures. I love looking at Malis - probably the only lizard I've ever been ok with, but I don't even know what the other one you mentioned is.

I hope someone on here can give you some info.

The photo you posted is from Deer Fern Farms and is labeled as a male--do you mean that is what your female looks like?

If you put a male and female of similar size and species together there is the risk that they will breed, regardless of whether or not they are actually genetically compatible. I'd suggest you separate them ASAP. Male uros don't need companions for social reasons.

yah the link was just for comparison reasons. and i already have separated them. but if he was able to breed with her. can he fertilize the eggs? and will there be any complications(i couldnt really think of anything being that the mali and the niger are about the same size and realtivley the same layout)
