OK! I haven't seen a thread on this so I thought I would ask and see what everyone else thought.

I have 2 females that (we think) are gravid right now. Both are soaking in their water dish preparing for their pre-lay shed I presume. One of them is noticably LARGE and the other doesn't seem to have ovulated but is still going through the motions.

The large one of the two continues to eat, which is blowing my mind. However the smaller one isn't eating.

Do you think she is choosing the water dish because she doesn't have a hide right now and wants the security of one? (I take my hides out after they show signs of ovulation, or I palpate and feel follicles)

I guess I'm just confused because she is refusing food, but hasn't shown any signs of ovulation. Maybe she's just fasting.

NOTE: I put a hide back in her tub, and she used it for about 3 hours and then went back to the water bowl. So I left it in there for 2 days and she didn't use it anymore. I removed it after the 2nd day.
