Ring worm sucks!!!!
WELL DANGIT
Who has had ring worm and just can't get rid of it??
I'm irritated as all get out right now. I just got a new cat we adopted. First night home I noticed a spot just behind his ear, and I said to Chris "sonofa... that's probably ring worm right there. *sigh*"
Well a few days later, Chris Txt's me a picture of a neat little red circle on his fore arm. Not only was it on his fore arm, but on his bicep, and 3 more little circles on his upper back/neck.
I thought I was lucky and started to treat the cat and chris for ring worm. About a week later, I got 2 spots under my chin and on my neck.
We started to clear up, the cat was at the Vets and she said he looked good (under wood's lamp) and said to just keep on putting ointment on it.
That was almost 4 weeks ago. We're going back today and so far I am battling my 4th round of outbreaks.
So far it's been:
Neck (2 spots)
Back of thigh (1 spot)
Palm (1 spot, blistered, infected, now back to normal)
Back of hand (a tiny little dot just started this weekend)
Chris is slowly getting over his, but he now has some in between his middle and ring finger... and found some this morning on his palm.
When the heck is this going to end?!?!? The cat is quarantined in the kitchen, I sanitized all of the laundry and cleaned the heck out of our bedroom and living room. I don't know what else to do, and I have no clue if cats ever actually clear up of ringworm or if they remain in a carrier state.
I'm this close to going to the Doctor for some prescription anti-fungal pills, but that won't do me much good if the cat is a carrier......
ok, end rant
:edit: NOT to mention, it makes dealing with rats that much more difficult, to little at all!

Re: Ring worm sucks!!!!
There are a bunch of antifungal creams out there that should help OTC.

My girlfriend and I got ringworm in a very similar situation. Nothing worked, and I mean
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!
even the doctor proscribed econozol creme did nothing.
I read online about bleaching out your ring worm. I was interested.
got a cotton swab dipped it in bleach two times a day
Within a week, all were gone.
No lies!

Well, your body will naturally get rid of the ringworm after a period of 4 months or something like that. It doesn't stick around forever... although this seems like forever!!!

I know, I was just shocked at how fast the bleach worked.

Lemme consult with my father and see if there is anything better out there, Connie. Gimme a couple of minutes.

Man, I was just looking at that (neosporin brand I think?) thinking maybe I should switch brands. I decided to stick with the clotrimazole. Doh.
