I thought about posting this under my FW Crab ID thread, but as it's been identified I felt it didn't really fit anymore. Anyhow, I last left off with one of them didn't make it through the night in my 29 gallon. I set up my 7.5 gallon acrylic tank and put the survivor in it, then headed back to the store with the casualty. The fish lady was very excited that I'd found the species of crab. They only had a couple left and won't be getting any for a while, so I decided to try again and brought home another one. The first one I had died that night, but I still have the newest one and she seems to be doing quite well.
All week I've had her in this tank with a pile of rocks to climb up, but not really any land mass. Today was water change day, and it dawned me that I had the PERFECT solution! I put a 3-D foam rock background in my 29 gallon, and I had to order a 40 gallon size and trim it down as they don't make them for a 29. I had a couple inches of foam rock so I cut it down to size and now I have the perfect land mass without losing any water space!
I'm SO excited about it, I hope she likes it as much as I do, lol. She spent alot of time hanging out on top of the filter, so I hope she appreciates this!
Yikes!! Looks like I missed alot of crap during the water change... I'm not used to this whole sand substrate thing yet![]()
