    Bigger than normal?

So I took my monthly weigh ins tonight and noticed something, it is probaly normal but I wanted some input from people with full grown bp's. I have a 07 normal bp (hatched around July 07) she is currently weighing 650 and has a huge head. My biggest bp is a 06 pastel that weighs 800 and my normals head is bigger than hers. Anyway my questions are is my normal going to be just be a big girl? Is my Pastel growing slower? Am I loosing my mind? I can get some comparison pics up tomorrow if need be.

    Re: Bigger than normal?

Generally head size does lead to a bigger snake, even when you look at sub-saharan ball pythons. Their heads are massive and some of the snakes are found 3000g+.

I have an 07 male who just turned about a year old and is almost 1000g's empty. My spider female is around 800 and she was born july 07. Then some are smaller like my male pastel who is only 400g and he is about as old as my spider.

I would say, to answer your question, she probably will be bigger and it is very possible you have a slow grower.

My biggest 07 is an Albino female who was born in August and is weighing in at a little over 700g, fed every 6 days.

My 10/07 is 220 grams, but he was very underweight when I brought him home and didn't eat for a month while on meds. I'd say you just got a nice big girl

    Re: Bigger than normal?

Well hopefully she will be a big girl and give me plenty of eggs! Thanks for all the replies, it's nice to compare size/age with others, comes in handy. My 06 female pastel was off feed for about a month so i'm sure that didn't help, the normal in question is a machine and has yet to refuse a meal.

    Re: Bigger than normal?

I don't know when my albino girl was born, but she was an 07 and I believe she is right around 800 grams. She was a very large 07 when we got her, so we believe she was early and may now be truly a year old.
