Shedding individual scales, help
So a while ago my BP went on a hunger strike so I took him to the vet, he said to change the temp and humidity and do some other things, long story short, the BP's eating again. Then the vet told me to keep the humidity up to 75-80% because last time he shed he got one retained eye cap. I have been doing that religiously, but noticed that about a week ago my BP was starting to feel almost a bit greasy. Now he's losing individual scales that are all over the place. His belly is perfectly white, and as far as I can tell there is no inflammation and his appetite's as good as ever. The scales he's losing aren't full scales, they look like thin fish scales.
what should I do, the vet's unavailable right now, not for about a week, and I don't know if I should try anything, please help!

Re: Shedding individual scales, help
Is his enclosure wet or humid? Humid doesn't equal wet and soggy.
Sounds like his skin is irritated by the excessive moisure or he got into something. I would put him on some newspaper or paper towels and get the humidity to around 50%. The eyecap will come off with the next shed, so don't worry about it.
I've had a few babies feel that way when they urinate(AND spill their water bowl) and sit in it until I come home. They get a lukewarm bath and wiped off with chlorhexidine(www.valleyvet.com). Don't need them getting urine scald or anything.
Oh and what did your vet say to change the temperatures to? They should be 92-94 warm side and 82-84 cool side, no night drop. If he's a baby, he shouldn't be going off-feed for any reason other than a shed(but even then, most of mine eat in full blue).
