I understand what you say about the energy but honestly I can't breath at all with it very hot [it gets extremly hot here in summer] so having just the window open doesn't help.. no I understand, and I don't think you should turn off the AC completely, but why can't you turn it on medium or low instead of leaving it on high all the time? 75 degrees is the same temperature year round (or 72 or whatever)!
I mean, you need to keep the heat at least down to 80, or else you won't be able to maintain a cool side. I definitely support using the AC when you need it, I just don't see why you would want it to be cooler than necessary (for you I mean, not for the snake...I can definitely understand why you might not want it to be 80 degrees all the time)
