Is he getting too heavy?

He's been a great eater from the beginning and now Kingsley is 26" and weighs 350 grams. I feed him 2 small mice every week. The question is, am I feeding him too much and causing him to get fat? I know over feeding is bad but I'm not sure his feedings could be classified as such.

Doesn't sound like too much, I guess it depends how small of a mouse, mice are not very big to begin with. At 350 grams that boy still has alot of growing to do so you sound fine.

At 350 grams a lot of people are already feeding small rats in the 45 to 65 gram range.

If that just looks impossible for him to handle. I'd at least be giving him weaned rats.

I'd say you could up his amount.

Also if you notice after you feed him that he starts laying on his side. Or goes off and soaks in the water bowl. Thatd be a sign of overfeeding.

They're trying to relieve the pressure off of they're bellies.

His scales look fine, no spaces. The problem is, I can't find small rats at school and I don't have the room to breed my own. That being the case 1 mouse isn't enough, at least I don't think it is.... would it be bad to feed him only one mouse instead of two?

I'd try and give him an adult mouse. Like 25 grams and up. Thatd be your best bet

Otherwise have you considered frozen thawed? I love it. I get consistently 60 to 65 gram smalls from rodent pro. They also have mice.
