    2 UTH's

20L Tank with 5x8 uth on left side. The 5 is on the long end. I want to get rid of over head light and get another uth. Should I get one to fit the rest of the tank or just the other side? Plus it is it ok to have the water bowl over a uth (outside tank) or not. Seems to be some disagreement there. Any input would be appreciated. Looking at a Herpstat II to manage heat.

what I've always heard is that moving the water bowl directly over the UTH is a good way to raise your humidity.
my lamp says not to put it over the water bowl, and I'm not really sure why that is either...

I used to have 1 UTH and 1 heat lamp. I got rid of the lamp and put another UTH (both are 5x8) under most of the waterbowl, with the rest under the warm side. I also put aluminium foil over 3/4 of the top of the cage.

It works perfectly. My temps and humidity are now perfect and stable! The heat lamp just drys the cage out too much and seems to make it hotter on the cool side than it should.

Good luck! I know it was frustrating for me at first but now it's all good

Yeah I was having low temps and way high humidity, so the lamp seemed like a great solution to me

I'm guessing that is for people who don't check on their snake enough, and the lamp evaporates the water out way to quickly.

I used to put the water bowl over the UTH ended up with a cracked aquarium. Now I put the water bowl under the lamp and refill as needed.
