    So. Bloody. Angry.

I don't think anyone I live with understands that we live in OHIO. Just because it is warm during the day does not mean that the heat can go off during the 40-degree nights! I woke up with my son today and the room temperature was 63! And my tubs were sitting at 69 on the cool side! I don't have the faintest clue about the roommate's ball python tanks, because she refuses to spend the money on Acurites!

All of the snakes are alive, thankfully, but very cold. As soon as I walked downstairs I knew something was wrong. The heat's back on now, and the tubs are slowly warming back up. I am shaking with anger right now, especially since that, with a major tragedy in my family causing my hours at work to take a forced cut, that this is NOT the week to have to drag them all to the vet for RI!

I cannot wait for my husband and son and snakes and I to have our own house (which will be soon) where I can keep control of everything! ARGH. Please help me keep RI away with high temps and force of will.

    I have a question.

Why are you depending on you house heating unit? Shouldn't you have UTH and/or other independent means of heat?

That way they stay the same temps all the time regardless of air conditioning or heater.

    Re: So. Bloody. Angry.

In my tank, I have 2 UTHs and an IR lamp, and the ambient temperature STILL depends a ton on the room temp.

Luckily, I live in GA, so it usually works out.

Good luck with keeping your snakes warm! You should maybe have a talk with your roommate. Here we just have the heater set to kick on when it gets to the high 60s, so it hardly ever does come on, but if it does get that cold, it's ok.
