Where do I buy hides in Maine?

My Ball has a hide, but its too big! I don't know where to buy hides in Maine, can anyone help me?

how big is your BP?
you don't need to buy anything right away, you can use something like a cool whip container upside-down with a door cut into it (melt or sand any sharp edges)

I have used plastic saucers from plant pots, which they just curl up underneath and it presses down on them and makes them feel snug (use the plastic kind, not the ceramic kind)

As for a good pet store to go to if you want, how close are you to Plaistow NH?

Ooh, we are always close to Plaistow because DOVER is there. Is there a reptile type store there as well?

She is 11 months old and looks about 18 inches long. I don't know how much she weighs now but she was 250 g on march 27th.

and if you decide to buy another snake, you may want to get it from there since it's so close and is one of the premier ball python breeding facilities in the USA.

Plus the owners/operators/breeders are super great folks

it shows the plant saucer, a tupperware, and some of the black plastic 'creature cubbyhole' commercial hides.
When choosing a size just remember that they like a snug fit, and the light plastic hides they eventually end up wearing on top of them like a hat but they still like it!

hey fishmommy, thank you for the link-- I will go visit them quite soon. I am pretty happy that they are in the same town as my other favorite store. That website looks great. I wish that the flashier colors were not quite so pricey. Some of the variations are gorgeous.

I think we will make some not so fancy hides for little Paradox.

hides can be as imaginative as you wish. the nice thing about DIY hides are they are inexpensive and you can easily make new ones as your BP grows so they'll always have the right size hide.

I have used fancy storebought ones and very cheap DIY ones and like little children they seem to like the cheapies best

I was looking at hides at the show last weekend. I like the look of the ones that look like stone dome caves, but when you flip them over and look at the inside, there's all these sharp pointy edges that look very unsafe. I just don't get why they didn't make them with the animal's comfort in mind. Buyer beware!

Dover Saddlery-- for horse people. Actually, drving back from the expo, we had to make a stop there and force the nonhorsey reptile enthusiasts in our group to deal with it and let us shop there.
