    Black Backs and Harlequins ???

Can someone clarify on these two "morphs"? I serached all through the forums here and found some decent info on Harlequins but I still couldn't pick one out of a pile of normals. As for black backs, I found a whole lot of nada. All the black back photos that users have posted have blushing on the backs, making them brown and not 100% black. So why the name? Aren't all normals black backs when you think about it? What gives?

When I think black back, I think of the het red axanthics. Those are some killer broad backed snakes, and I love them as hets probably more than the actual red axanthic.

As to the harle's, I have no idea. lol

Harlequin _ Picture from - JASBALL PYTHONS

black backs are usually solid dorsal stripes from neck to tail. a lot of normals have semi solid dorsals.

Ok, I think I get black backs now. It's not just the color, it's the pattern. Or lack thereof. Cool.

As for the Harlequins, I've seen so many stand alone pictures of The Freak in response to the question "what is a harli?" - as if that explains what a Harli is. I really appreciate the visual, but I need someone to actually point out which parts of The Freak are his Harli markers. (If you could even call them that)

Nothing against you, FL0OD - just saying.

I don't know Harleys well enough to explain them myself. My Pretzel, however, is an example of a blackback.

The black backs dont have the stripes that ball pythons have on their backs.
