    Introducing - Advanced Husbandry Forum

You've whispered about it, you've hinted about it, you've asked for it, and we've heard you! We are introducing, on a 30 day trial basis, an advanced husbandry forum for sharing advanced husbandry techniques.

We encourage you to use it wisely. We wanted to offer a place for our more experienced keepers to share what new things they're trying, and be open to answering other member's questions. We do caution someone just learning ball pythons to wait to get more experience under their belt and comfortable reading their animals before they "try this at home".

Since we do primarily function as a place for new members to turn to as a resource to learn how to properly care for their ball pythons, it leaves our members with years of experience feeling like they don't really have a home to discuss advanced husbandry. This, we hope will be a place to share new ideas.

This forum is NOT intended to be a place to post any off the wall idea that pops into someone's head, but preferably a sharing of first hand experiences of what you've tried and what has worked and what didn't work for each individual. Also, while reading this forum please keep an open mind before critiquing others' techniques. Keep in mind that the keeping of ball pythons is still in its infancy, it's only through the "thinking outside the box" of experienced keepers that we continue to grow and learn more about these magnificant animals!

After the 30 day trial, we will evaluate whether the forum is being used, and if it's helpful to you. If all goes as we hope, this will become a permanent feature of Ball-Pythons.net.

Raj will be activating the forum some time today! This will be a sub-forum of Ball Python Husbandry.

We have talked about it, and we're going to see how this one goes first, and then perhaps we'll see about adding sub-forum to some of the other more popular forums (like boas, etc).

How about only having "advanced keepers" allowed into this room?...almost like a QT room?

Jas breeding small males and females would be advanced. Folks trying to feed more often that what is regularly recommended and their reasons why would be an example. Anything that falls outside what we recommend to new keepers. Anything "outside the box"

We talked about that, but decided against it. It would be next to impossible to decide who was included and who was excluded. This way everyone can ask questions and learn what's being tried as we learn more about the keeping of ball pythons.
