Did he eat his shed??
So my 2.5 year RTB Ziggy has been acting like he was going to shed for about 4 days... His eye's got super fogged up and I could see the colors dulling up... all the signs he is going to shed... I up the humidity a bit... And today when I got home it appears he had a perfect shed... But there is not a single shred of evidence... not the tiniest piece of skin anywhere. Did he eat it? I've had him about 2 months and this is his first shed with me...

Sometimes they clear up a lot and then shed a day or two later. I'm guessing this is what yours is doing.

Okay cool... I wasn't going to take him out to examine him just in case that was the situation. It's wierd how cloudy his eyes were and now they are perfect.

My boa does that too. Just keep up the humidity for a few more days and you should have a shed soon.

Re: Did he eat his shed??
It's completely normal that he should do that. There shedding process involves a return to a "normal" look about 48 hours before the actual shedding occurs. Here's a great link to understand the whole shedding process as well as another one for if the shed goes wrong. Hope they are helpful.

Re: Did he eat his shed??
I've never seen a snake eat his own shed, but my cornsnake slithered completely back through his shed and fell asleep in it once...but he's a little dork. =)
