I used to have 1.1 KSBs but couldnt get into them.
I gave them up for adoption to a well qualified owner.
Sorry, didn't mean to exclude anyone. I just assumed that either you have one or want one. LOL. How long did you keep them before you decided they weren't for you?

Re: How many KSB's and Rosies owned by site members?
A few months ago I bought an albino coastal rosy boa from petco. It was young and a very mean snake that struck everytime my hand entered its cage. I noticed at the store it had a few mites, so they gave me some vet medicine to spray on him. The spray seemed to be as affective as tap water so ten days later I returned him. I went to another pet store and got my first ball, Im glad I did balls are great. I went back to petco yesterday and asked "hey what ever happened to those rosy boas" the guy told me the mites got even worse and had to send them out to antoher vet. Inspect your animals carefully before puchasing. Take them to good lighting or outside, its important having an infested animal is not fun

I ended up buying a Kenyan Sand Boa in October. But we just got a rescue Rosy Boa that was surrendered to PetCo, too. It does not have mites - I have checked. Thank goodness. It is very docile - no problem. But it seems to have stuck shed on it's eyes. So hopefully, the next shed will go better. He was given up for "not eating." We've only had him two weeks and so far he's eaten three times - 1st a live pinkie mouse, 2nd two live pinkie mice, 3rd a F/T pinkie mouse! So he's already converted to F/T. Yeah!
Glad the BP worked out for you. They are GREAT snakes. We have one, too.

I have a pair of normal KSBs that are nearing breeding size. I really need to take some new pictures of them - the female is in shed now, though. I also have a little albino het anery girl. I'm in search of an anery het albino male for her.
Here she is!

Yes, "mini-boas" is the perfect nick-name. That's awesome that you are getting one. From whom? Or a show? Our Rosy has such an awesome personality. I took him to my 3 1/2 yr old son's nursery school on Monday and let the kids hold him if they wanted. After all that, he was still in a "good mood" that night. Now he just threw back two f/t pinkie mice, burped, and looked around for me. I really need to move him up to fuzzies.

What a beautiful girl! Where did you get her? Do you have a breeder in mind for her mate?

I'm trying to get the Rosy Boa at the All-Cleveland Reptile Show & Sale this week. Just to confirm, Rosies have a reputation for being docile snakes, right? I'm only asking this because the last Rosy Boas I saw (at a Reptile exhibit in AZ) were told to be rare aggressive ones.

My snakes:
0.1 Kenyan Sand Boa ~Nephthys~ (aka "Linky")
In a better place: 1.0 Pastel Western Hognose ~Charon~ 10/3/07-4/24/09
If you need/want to know anything about Hognose snakes, just ask me.

Re: How many KSB's and Rosies owned by site members?
Thanks, Melissa! I got her from JMG in January. She's het anery, so I want to find a male anery 100% het albino for her. I like when anerys show lots of contrast between the black & silver, so hopefully I'll be able to find a nice one somewhere - but no, I haven't found a breeder yet.
