WHY Ball Pythons?
WHY!?!?!?!
What are the best things about your Ball Python???
Be it Normal or Super Secret Morph of the Future, why do you love your Ball Python, and why did you get one?

Re: WHY Ball Pythons?
The first thing that drew me in for bp's was that I really loved the way they looked. Just a nice normal patterned bp. After learning more about them I realized that they would be my first snake years ago. I enjoy that they are normally not very hyper and are easy to handle. I find that once you have the basics down, the husbandry is very low maintenance which makes it easy to keep multiples. Their temperment is generally really great, and just look at those faces! I love that they don't get large enough to require 2 people and are not a danger to anyone. Lastly, the fact that there are SO many morphs to choose from. I can't wait to start breeding!
This is a short list of things I dig about bp's....at work and may have to actually do some work today

Re: WHY Ball Pythons?
They're so pretty!
Our first male Pastel loves to hang out with us, sit around our necks, he wasn't head shy, and just an awesome boy! He's gorgeous and just an awesome snake. He's doubled in size since we first got him a year ago when he was just a baby, and he's well on his way to being a bronzed god-snake.

I like their shy nature....hiding and peeking out is very cute
I like their big shiny scales - feels so cool.

Re: WHY Ball Pythons?
several reasons..
1. general docile demeanor. sure there are spitfire ones, but that could be said for any living thing.
2. relative small size, husbandry is relatively easy when you have the correct resources to get your information from
3. all the colors they come in and imagine the morphs we haven't discovered yet..
thats the reason I also picked my corns.

Re: WHY Ball Pythons?
I've always wanted a snake, and I think all snakes of all varieties have their own beauty and charm. BPs were just perfect for my current stage of life. Being in college, I don't have a lot of space and being a amateur keeper, I didn't want to jump into the larger snake arena. I also didn't want a corn snake, as they were fairly small and didn't get very girthy.
BPs attracted me because they're mellow, easy to care for, solid snakes. I've never regretted picking Auryn I would LOVE to get a retic, but I just don't have the space or spare cash to care for a large, hungry snake Retics are beautiful and maybe some day, I'll have one. But, for now, it's just Auryn and I...and maybe a Honey Bee some time in the future.

Re: WHY Ball Pythons?
1. Colors... Just the normals are stunning... can't wait to get a few of the morphs ie Pewter Pastel...
2. Temperment, the least nippy of all the different snakes I've kept in the last 10 years.
3. Husbandry is pretty easy once you join BP.NET!
4. Having such a large friendly community to share my interests with.
Those are all I can think of currently.. but I'm sick today so... I'm sure there are more reasons.
