Probiotics for BPs
I was wondering if anyone knows whether probiotics made for humans would be beneficial for reptiles. I would think that reptiles and humans have different beneficial bacteria, and that probiotics for snakes would be different stains. Does anyone know if supplementing with human PBs would be safe or beneficial, or no way?

I wouldn't think so, just on the general knowledge that Snakes are not Humans, and vice versa. I think more research as to the flora of the body of any particular animal needs to be substatiated before any additional probiotic ANYTHING should be introduced, because as well as anyone knows, too much of anything is a bad thing.

I can't entirely believe it's bad for them. I feed my some of my rats probiotic yogurt, it helps with skin allergies and digestion. It's beneficial for my rats, and I can't imagine that they are completely destroyed in the snake's gut, but it is entirely possible considering the condition of a snakes gut is completely different from a rats.
(yes i know i spoil the feeder rats ok!)

I agree. It may not be bad for them in small doses, but an overwhelmingly large amount of many types of bacteria can cause problems. (E.coli, etc...)

Yes. I stand by my statement.
