    car help

Guys I own a 99 Pontiac Firebird 3.8L Any car guys out there can ya help me out? It won't start. Ran fine all day and I go to start it and it wont even flash the gauges when I try to turn the key. Dome lights and door chime goes off and Bat is good. I'm betting its the security system just need some help.

Its a key with the chip in it Turns all the way to the start position just no power it seems when I try to crank it. I hope its something simple and I can do it myself if not....good thing I had to move back in with my mom....Tows and labor are expensive in a small town.

Right, Im thinking either your ignition, becuase you say you have the dome, and door chime, so obiviously you are getting power to the car.

Did that first thing I had a strange incident few mornings ago car started and the starter stayed on even when key was removed and in off position. I'm figuring its the ignition or security system. No problems since that morning till today.

Sometimes over a time of putting the key in and out they get "filed down".Do you have another set of keys to try?

I have never heard of a security system making the starter stay on.It kills it when you try to steal it .

I know it kills it but I'm leaning more toward an Ignition problem then a Security issue with that morning in mind. The security light would be on if it was that system and its not. This month seems to suck in general for me.
