No need to educate me on law, I'm well versed. You specifically said to "look it up in a legal dictionary", which as luck would have it I happen to have several on the shelves right behind me.

adj. responsible or obligated. Thus, a person or entity may be liable for damages due to negligence, liable to pay a debt, liable to perform an act which he/she/it contracted to do, or liable to punishment for commission of a crime. Failure to meet the responsibility or obligation opens one up to a lawsuit, and committing a crime can lead to a criminal prosecution.

You can say that the intent of your statement was to infer some sense of legal liability based on how you perceived the other posters original statement, but I'm going to stand by my first thought when reading your post; that you meant libel and just had a brain fart, then tried to cover it later with some lame excuse.

As for your suggestion that my tone would be more civil in the face of your enhanced girth let me "enlighten" you. This is me being civil and your proximity would in know way change my opinion, or what I would have to say....
