As a general rule, boids and colubrids may not be very different in the realm of intelligence. (Maybe, maybe not. I'd imagine this is a debatable subject) But between the snakes that I own, and the ones that *I* have had experience with, there is a world of difference.
The ball that I have now is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed. She has no concept of gravity, and no desire to escape. (Though maybe that's more intelligent than I'm giving her credit for.) Her actions are just that of a python - a snake, an animal with a relatively small brain.
The milk on the other hand ... He's already attempted several escapes and he's only been here two days. He's found a spot on the lid that if pushed just right, will give way. I've had to alter my set-up. Not to mention the stunt he pulled the other day during feeding...
I've never worked with colubrids before, so this is incredible to me.![]()
