I understand that, that's why I took off the selfish part. Because companies do that all the time.

My comparison my not be the best, but Apple created something everybody thought was awesome, they decided to keep it secret and not let anyone else use their technology, and they crashed; meanwhile, IBM let anybody use their technology and they crushed Apple. And technically, they still are. I'm just saying, keeping it to yourself and puttin a huge price tag on it can hurt you in the end.

I'm preparing myself for the flaming as I type.

You would want to start with a male specimen, breed it to normals to reveal the component dominant and co-dominant morphs, breed those to the sire to expose component recessive morphs.

If you're lucky, you could figure out all the ingredients in as little as 2-3 years.

Actually, a BETTER reason for keeping it secret would be if the ingredients are fairly common and already in many peoples collections. What would you rather have? A pretty rare snake, or a pretty snake that would be a lot more common if the exact recipe were widely known? I have my own theories and many other people have theirs. I'm working towards mine, and if I'm right, great... If I'm not, then I'll still have a lot of neat looking snakes.
