Weird spot from bad shed (with pic)

My corn finally shed the other day, but he had one stuck piece. I wrapped it gently with a wet washcloth to help it, only to have it come off unexpectedly (I wasn't rubbing hard or anything). This is the spot where it came off:



The white area on the right apparently has scales missing.

Should I just ignore it till his next shed or should I put something on it (neosporin, e.g.)?

Well it does not look like a open wound so i see no reason to put anything on it.I would just keep an eye on that area and see what it looks like after the next shed.

I think it will but it might look just a little differant.I had a baby corn lose a couple scales when i was popping him(in my begginings sorry ) and they grew back just a little bit smaller.

When the skin got stuck the scales got starved for blood and liquid. Since there is no scale rot, just some compression, I would guess that they will come back completely after the next shed or maybe two.

It's nothing to worry about as it is now. Next time make sure he's got a water bowl big enough to soak his whole body in.

He does have a decent sized water bowl, but when he's in shed he just hides all day and doesn't go anywhere near it. But I definitely should have soaked him instead of just putting a wet cloth on it; would have been gentler.

It would not hurt to spray his enclosure a bit either.Your welcome
