Just remember that Boas have to be kept separate from Pythons just in case, and at least have to be in QT for a while. I only QT my corn snakes for a month as opposed to the 3-6 months for boids.
Darn, where's a fainting smilie when I need one LOL!? I understand he's entitled to his own opinion, but what does your BF have against Rosies? They're the smoothest snakes around and have color combinations exclusive only to them. I can't find a reason to dislike them.

My snakes:
0.1 Kenyan Sand Boa ~Nephthys~ (aka "Linky")
In a better place: 1.0 Pastel Western Hognose ~Charon~ 10/3/07-4/24/09
If you need/want to know anything about Hognose snakes, just ask me.

I've noticed that with mine, also. She seems to slow down after wrapping her tail around something. More content maybe? Still impossible to get pictures of, though!

Eh, he thinks they look like giant earthworms. Same with Kenyan Sand Boas.
Back to corns, tho, I agree that they are much more active when being held, but tend to calm down a bit if they have their tail around something. My big ghost male is as docile as a lamb once you have him out of the cage, and he just cruises. In contrast, my 7month old Anery female is always on the move and hard to keep hold of.
