    Feeding Time

    Okay. About once every 10 days comes feeding day.

    And my ball is about 3 feet long and can easily eat a small rat. I also feed my snake in a seperate enclosure. But the minute i even bring a rat into the house (snake is upstairs), my snake goes nuts. He doesn't bite me but right as I open the cage he is crawling up the walls (and he has struck at me a few times).

    My question is:
    Is this normal for the snake to smell the rat through about 4 closed doors and a whole floor?

    Or maybe somehow the snake can smell the rat on my hands(i only hold the box, never come in direct contact with the rat)?

    I hear how somepeople say it is best to precent room, but if I leave the rat in the room without my snake being able to strike it, my snake starts to hit the wallls.

    ===Thanks===

    Re: Feeding Time

    I'd try dropping the feeding to 7 days instead of 10. He might just be hungry. I know with my snakes if I miss the usually Sunday feeding by Monday night they are all over the place!
