Well this is my first post here and hopefully will be worthwhile.

RI's are the biggest hassle in my life, i lost my pastel to one over xmas which was a major bummer.

My biggest problem is that as of yet the causes are still unknown, it's only the royals that get it and all other snakes are fine i do have boas in the same room but being aware of IBD they get dealt with on a different day to pythons and all snakes are quarantined in a separate room for 6months before coming into the main collection so all i can think of is something in this room which is going to be fumigated and stripped in attempt to eradicate it or i have a carrier snake which doesn't show the RIs just dishes them out.

The common practice here is cultures taken and treatment given, usually marbocyl or baytril (i personally find baytril more effective) and fortum as a combination. Another technique being used now which i don't know if you guys do is along with raising temps is to nebulise the pythons with F10 disinfectant which shows good results quickly, i've had a female with an RI who after a 3days of 2x 20min neb sessions combined with a 5 shot course of baytril/fortum is clear as she ever was now as it seems the disinfectant in the lungs works much faster than the injected drugs.
