AP rack users...
Hey I've had my AP rack for a while, just have a quick question. Do you guys use the groove they give you for the probe placement, or do you guys just tape theprobe directly to the heat rope?
It seemed like the groove for the probe was too far away from the heat rope, the rope would heat up to like 105 degrees and the thermostat was still saying 80.
Im just worried that if I use the groove they provide for the probe that the tub directly over the heat rope would fry and the probe isnt even warmed up yet.

I need the same ? answered my probe is in the groove, also heat rope gets hott! but I have been monitoring the inside tube temps & they seem even a little low my Helix is set at 94 rope is anywhere from 107 to 125 but thats not directly on the snake ,it still has to go threw the tub.also if it is in the middle & don't have a tub covering it it gets hotter then with a tub over the rope & probe,my 15 qt. tubes split it the probes not covered & the helix ups the temp of the rope covered it lowers it,I just got it set up yesterday so I don't have it set perfect yet.

its real good now, my 32 qt. bins are a little high(95 on the back) only because the heat goes the whole lenth of the bin but my 15 qt. bins are around 87,temp gunned my snakes & they were all around 85 to 87 degrees,LOVE the rack real good fit & finish.
