    2 Rat ???'s (Major DUW)

Question 1: In these group, there are two rats, that look very different to me, extremely different. They look like a dry erase eraser. What is this?

Question 2: Does he look special to anyone else, or is it just me? He has a crazy golden hue to him in "natural light".

    Just for fun:

    Thanx everyone!

The two fuzzy rats look like they still waiting for the rest of their hair to grow in... on a 2nd look, they look like they have very short hair?

The other rat, not sure about him, does look kind of cool though.

The two fuzzy rats, personaly, I may be tempted to hold them back and raise to see what they turn into.

    Looks like super rex!

Did you breed rex to rex?

Re: 2 Rat ???'s (Major DUW)

Mom & Dad must both carry rex in their genes because that is the only way you will get a double rex rat & that is what those two little babies look like to me

the feel just like a brillo pad & they will start getting patchy at about 3 weeks... backs of heads & down the body.

    Will it grow back?

Who knows.. that the deal with breeding rats with unknown lines... its a pot luck mystery stew of genetics going on.

Is there any possibility that the Mom & Dad is from the same litter? If so, you really don't want to breed them together & if they are siblings you may not want to bred these back to either parent either... just too close a line & not only could it produce a favorable result, it is just as likely to enhance the unfavorable results.

Re: 2 Rat ???'s (Major DUW)

Nope, you got a hairless pat! Congratulations!

Rex is dominant, not recessive. If your certain that none of the parents have ANY curly whishkers, then it's pretty much a guarantee it's a hairless.

You have some dalmations, and masked, from the high white father. Also dumbo (another recessive!), but I'm sure you knew that. That masked girl is adorable with her big ol' ears. I would keep her as a pet only, too cute.

The crazy golden one is an agouti husky. Husky like her father (If i'm remembering the correct thread ), agouti is dominant, so you have an agouti running around?

Well, there are some cuties in that litter. Keep us posted.

First babies are hairless, or will be.

The agouti is actually a cinnamon agouti, hence the red tones. She's not a husky, so no worries there. Looks like a poor variegated or a variberk. There isn't a distinguishing "husky" line, but rather mottled and wonky

Well, the only two that i decided to hold back were the "hariless" becuase i just wanted to see what would happen a few weeks from now with their little hairs. But both parents had straight wiskers, and definately not rex. Thanx People for your responses. this whole rat morph crap is soooo confusing!

The only thing that I have held back is Agouti, and now this litter, the two hairless! I got some dumbos in the last one, but fed them off, damn Adam's snakes can eat!
