Need Help Fast!

Plus as a bonus he has learned that feeding time is here when he is in there and it helps me clean his tank while he digests food.

I do the exact same thing.

By moving your snake though it puts extra stress on them .

I understand, some people have been doing this for a long time, blah blah blah.

But this whole extra stress thing.. have you noticed their hairs turning gray? They stop performing at work? Taking xanex? Just wondering.

I'm sorry, I know you probably weren't trying to order anybody to do anything, (hence the ) but I hear this a lot when It really has nothing to do with anything.

If feeding in the tank causes the snake to get substrate in his mouth, why not take them out? Sometimes changing substrate isn't an option (long shot, I know), and other times people just don't want to for looks, and would rather feed outside.

I mean, when I posted a video, I thought was fun, most of what I got was "Don't feed him in a seperate tank, and the food is too small". The food may be too small (kinda hard to judge at the pet shop), but feeding in a different tank is preference I would imagine.

Sure your snake may not eat when you take him out, but if it hasn't failed... don't stop. Even if it does fail 1 or 2 times, from what I've gathered, really has nothing to do with taking him out, but more along the lines of where he stays when he's not feeding.

I'm sorry I had to rant, but people correcting people on where they feed their snakes ALL THE TIME gets kinda old.

Sorry for the rant, I'm kinda new, but this seems to be one thing that gets said a bunch and sometimes doesn't need to be.

If you think about it, what is the rule after feeding your snake? Give him/her approx 48 hours before handling, correct? This is to minimize stress and the likelihood of regurgitation. So moving a snake OUT of his/her enclosure to feed means putting him/her BACK in the enclosure after.

Therefor, stress to some degree is implemented. I personally do not want to risk my bp becoming ill because of regurgitation, so I feed him in his tank. I am not saying anyone is wrong for feeding outside, but in all technicality, it is correct to say it does induce some level of stress. Plus you are debating with a respected and well learned individual on this site (joepythons)

I'm not debating if it's right or not (especially with joe, I know his status here, and I seem to like him so far), because to me, it doesn't really matter.

I'm really saying, when someone shows a snake feeding out of the tank or even mentions it.. there is ALWAYS someone there to correct them for doing it. Now, if it was going to KILL your snake, then immediatly tell the person and send them a million PMs.

You know what I mean? I don't want to start a fight, because I really enjoy being here, just maybe lay off the "feed him in his tank" bit on some of the threads where nobody asked or it isn't a threat to the animal at the time.

i would imagine having aspen and not being able to close your mouth and then getting rushed to the vet would be a bit more stressful?

I find it annoying sometimes too, you post a pic of your new addition, or a new setup, ect, and everyone can find something to criticize. But that also allows you to make improvements if there is something you had not thought of, or not noticed.

Anyway, V1L3 DiaL3cT, when you get back from the vet, do you think you would be allergic to Scott Shop Towels? If you check out the link here, it tells you what they are made of and everything. They are blue, so not the most natural thing lol. But if you are considering switching substrate, it might be an option. Let us know how everything went!

I understand this and sometimes it's needed. But i've seen at least 5 threads about feeding in/out. A lot of them are near the top at all times.
