    Talking New baby's!

I came home to a really nice surprise! I just love it when mice work out for you.

I wasn't expecting her to pop for another couple of days. I counted 12 baby's, anyone want to confirm that for me? Hopefully he wont eat them, but i think she would have already. The mice are adding up, this makes 30 baby's in one month from my breeders, with my new male that i know is a stud i should get a bunch more in the next month. Happy snakes!

Also, I pulled her hide to take the shot, she went off with two pinky's( the very far away ones) I really need to clean up behind my mouse baby tank, and the lights are turned off in that room almost always

Congrats! I had a female mouse give birth to 11 recently and over a week she culled them down to 3. I never have success with mice, which is why I focus on rat breeding instead - plus I enjoy playing with my breeder rats when they aren't nursing a litter - they're awesome critters!

    Re: New baby's!

My two attempts at breeding rats have failed, but I'm happy with mice. Now that Ive got a male breeding i should be over run with them( but with six snakes to feed now I'm sure it will not be a problem) My other baby mice

    http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...s/IMGP2488.jpg

are doing great, the have now reached the perfect size for my lesser. My mice are also in a spot where i only go when check up on them, which i think is something that will help with any success that i get from them. Today i still have all of the pinky's, and what Ive been told is that if they pass through the first day, they will have a much larger chance at surviving.

Your lucky that rats have worked out for you, i wish mine had. But after looking at weaned rats, they are much to large for my lesser who will only eat live( so no freezing) I just think i can control mice better since they do not get huge. It all works out. Thank you for the reply!

I've been feeding rats to my smaller snakes, I feed rat pups, not weaneds. It's all about what works best for you- and so mice sound great for you!

    Re: New baby's!

Congrats! I love breeding mice, and it so far is working quite well for me. I have three trios each in their own 26x15x10" tub with baby blankets hung for privacy. So far, I still have 7 adults from my first two litters of 9 and 11 (I kid you not), and currently have 29 hoppers and 9 pinks.

Here's wishing you more continued mousy luck!

    Re: New baby's!

Thanks, so far this males 18 weaners and 12 pinkys( a perfect 30!) and many more to come. This morning it was snowing so i went to check up on the mice, i guess they got a little cold because i could hardly tell which one was my male But i was wondering, is this a sine of breeding? He normaly has HUGE marbles and today they were tiny, and i looked over a few females and to my knowledge it looked different down there, and one i think i found a sperm plug. I love mice!
