daylight or nightlight bulb
i was wondering what bulb is best for ball pythons. i have been using the blue daylight bulb by zoomed and was considering using the red one. someone told me that you will see your snake more if you use the red bulb during the day instead of the blue because the red light they cant see. is this true will my bp come out more during the day if i switch bulbs or should i stick with the blue style. any suggestions?? thanks.

Are you using the light for a heat source or just to see him? If its just to be able to see him you dont need any special light other then room lighting. One more thing ball pythons are nocturnal aka they come out at night

Re: daylight or nightlight bulb
For visibility and nothing more, you can just use a moonlight blue bulb of low wattage above your enclosure at night and a simple day bulb for day. Normally no more than 25 watts for simple viewing.
If you're using them for supplemental heat, make sure the lamps are at least 8"-12" above the lid and use 50watt or lower bulbs. Anything closer or higher and your humidity goes POOF.
Red lights cannot be seen by the snake, but many people (myself included) have found that the intensity of those bulbs actually causes their snakes to hide more. So, between red and blue, the blue would be less intense and, IMHO, nicer to look at.
