Because they're nocturnal BP's wonder out of their burrows after dark to eat, drink, check their E-mail, play the lotto... Whut?

Really... I feed at night because that's when they are "naturally" active.

Agreed but if you pre-scent wouldn't that wake them up anyways. I don't think that in the wild they only eat when a rat or mouse crosses by them at night. Plus if you keep them in a rack they aren't getting much light in from outside so I don't know how that would make much of a difference.
