NO way she's having 42 babies, more like 24 tops. I'm guessing 15 realistically, but hoping for 20!

Good gravy man, you mean you have another snake about to have babies? She better be right on time, because I can't take another ordeal like this!

    Hi,

Is that because of the demands of digestion or some other reason - does feeding much smaller meals make any difference?

Sorry for asking so many questions but I haven't heard about that and wondered if it was something that applied to BP's too.

    Re: It's day 108 now!

I know very little of BP breeding. MOST RTB females will not eat readily during gestation. Out of the 6 litters I'm having this season, only one has refused a monthly much-smaller-than-normal meal. My breeder girls are all on XXL to XXXL rats or comparable sized rabbits before the season starts and I'll offer them a medium to medium-large rat once a month after their post ovulation shed (pos) is done up till the last 30-40 days before the due date. Feeding them, since they are live birth, too close to the due date can cause one of two things:

    1- premature delivery
    2- stillborns

    Not a good thing!

Hey Jimi~ Is there some way that you can massage (or something) to help induce if she gets to the point where she is getting to emaciated? Will she let you do that?
