    my 33 gallon tank... :)

im a little bit of a fish nerd as well as a herpaholic.. so i thought i would share my other obsession... have a 33 gallon oceanic cube.. not really a cube, its tall, but its square.. whatever, you get it.
its mostly semi aggressive with one exception.. its got an emperor 400, so its got a lot of plant going on at the top (hard to see in the picture), to keep the current down. being tall helps too, there is almost none at the bottom. and i turn the filter off to feed them, otherwise all of the floating food sinks right to the bottom.
anyway.. maintenance is the usual.. 10% water change every week, 25% and gravel vac once a month... change the filters a couple weeks after that.. it has been up and running beautifully for over a year and it stays pretty clean.. :)
stock: 4 leopard ctenopomas, 4 black rubys, 4 platinum barbs, 3 odessa barbs, 3 neon rosey barbs, 3 brachardis, 1 red tail shark, 1 raphael cat, 1 vampire pleco, 1 sailfin pleco, 1 golden algae eater, and 1 jacobfreibergi peacock... and yes, they will get a bigger tank...

    tank.

    platinum barb.

    odessa barb.

    brachardi.

    leopard ctenopoma.

    red tail shark.

    peacock.

    vampire pleco.

clown pleco that didnt make it long..

ive also got a thing for bettas..
    my favorite and his tank..

    ..thanks..
    ..enjoy..

    thank you, thank you..
40 gallons is a good size, but not near big enoug for either pirhana... im not entirely sure if there are any eels that wont out grow a 40, but of the ones i know, they all do.. all the more reason to do some research!

I am not a huge betta fan, but those are some nice crowntails, and overall impressive looking tank. Although I gotta admit, a 100% water change every week seems a little excessive. Back before my herps took over and I had a tank, I did a 1/3 change every week and a full change once a month. But hey, can't knock the final results.
