what are they for the dif hets? anyone got pics?

Also, i have a little normal that i bought for $30 from a reputable breeder. he is gorgeous with his markings and color. Just recently, as he nears the 200g mark, his broze coloring is taking on a very yellow/orange appearance and his white rims are really becoming brighter. I know there are no "markings" for albino hets, but i also know everytime i see an albino het i can definitely tell the dif between the normals around him. so, in your experience, have you seen what appear to be het albino markings? I will try to take a pic, but the colors are so sensitive, i may not be able to pick it up. also, his black appears more shallow in some areas along his back, another trait ive seen in hets...just wondeing. (i also understand normals come in a millions different flavors, just curious...)

The only semi reliable marker I've heard of is the pied marker, which isn't even all that accurate. There are no markers for hets, besides visual hets (mojave, lesser, butter and others).

You also say you can pick out different het albinos. Try with these three.

haha, no i meant when a het is marked at a show (it says het on the case), and it sits next to or is held next to normals, I can see colors differences. I can't pic em out by any means or i wouldnt have started the thread, haha. I was simply wondering, since the hets usually appear different than normals (even of the same clutch), could it be possible that slight coloration differences could imply het status?

I guess I would have to try and distinguish the color difs by eye, then breed em all and see...it wouldn't be a super effective or necessary study, but establishing a het albino as a visible trait could prove valuable for the BP world...

The ones that I have seen and compared have been at shows, and although I don't claim to have seen every one or even a lot (comparitively) they typically seem way more orange to me (thats usually what I see). I have wwalked away nearly every time saying, "wow, that dude really looked like he could be a het". The possibles have never really looked that way to me, which is either a direct contradiction to what I'm saying or I've never seen a possible that is, in fact, a het...

Well since you didn't guess, all three of them are het albino. They come in many patterns and tones.

Also theoretically it wouldn't be a recessive gene if there is a noticeable difference in pattern, when compared to normal balls. That would make it a co-dom or visual het and it would probably have its own name, like Mojaves(het for Blue Eyed Lucy) and Yellowbellies(Het ivory).

I would say if there were a subtle difference in the hets of any morph whoever figured it out would most likely keep it to themselves for as long as possible.

I bet all 3 are hets! Although most of the het albino markers are on the under side of the snake..

Well since you didn't guess, all three of them are het albino. They come in many patterns and tones.

If it was a reputable breeder the normal course of events would have been that the breeder would tell you or provide paperwork on the snake being het for something. If it was sold to you as a normal, by a reputable breeder, then it's likely a quite lovely normal.

well, i called him and asked. he said he normally throws possible hets in with the normals since they hardly fetch anymore. he said i could buy a 100% for a hundo, so why even bother telling. i was just curious. he said if its not 100% he doesnt bother (unless its something of higher value). he said he even puts het pied males in there.

I've seen a bunch of hets with mustaches or a "jungle" look to them... those are the ones I generally purchase for myself.
